Jim Campers artistieke praktijk vormt een traject dat historischculturele momenten oproept. Vertrekkend vanuit onderzoek bevraagt Jim Campers de Counterculture met terugkerende onderwerpen als ‘vrijwillig ballingschap’, ‘worstelen met de samenleving’ en ‘vervormende waarneming door psychedelische ervaringen’. Door beelden, tekst, referenties en signifié te verweven ontstaat een groter narratief.
Jim Campers behaalde in 2013 zijn Master diploma in fotografie aan de Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten in Antwerpen, België. Van 2009 tot 2012 volgde hij een uitwisselingsprogramma aan de Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig, Duitsland. Momenteel leeft en werkt Jim Campers in Antwerpen, België.

Jim Campers work evokes important historicalcultural moments of the selfimposed exiled from society. Informed by research Campers method consists of interweaving narratives by connecting images to each other as individual experiences through text. A complex web of references and significations will appear, which bear traces of individual destinies and collective endeavours.
Jim Campers obtained in 2013 his Master's Degree in Photography at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium. From 2009 tot 2012 he followed an exchange program with the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig, Germany. Jim Campers currently lives and works in Antwerp, Belgium.
